· All line art must be in Adobe Illustrator (CS2 or lower) EPS vector format (for PC).
· While we cannot guarantee an exact color match, all vector artwork must use PANTONE (PMS) colors. If CMYK colors are used, banners cannot be rejected on the basis of color accuracy.
· Use a printed PANTONE color chip chart/book to pick colors as most monitors do not display colors accurately.
· All PMS colors must be solid colors and not percentages of PANTONE colors.
· Any digital images (ie scans, digital photos, etc) MUST be at least 150dpi when sized to the final artwork size—this means that any digital images must be very high resolution and of high quality to be successfully printed.
· All fonts must be converted to outlines.
· Due to the nature of inks and digital printing, solid blacks will print more as a deep charcoal rather than black.
· Also please note that metallic colors like gold, and silver cannot be printed. Use alternative colors to represent gold or silver (ie shades of gray for silver, and orange/brown mixes for gold).
· A JPEG or PDF must be provided along with submitted artwork with all PANTONE colors clearly labeled.
· All files must be saved in an editable format. Do not parse or embed fonts or support files in the document.
· Never place an EPS file within another EPS file.
· Use a minimum of 0.3 points for lines. Never use hairlines.
· AVOID using shadows, fades, or vignettes.
Acceptable Software:
· Illustrator (CS2 or older)
· Convert all type to outlines
· Leave any layers used in file
· Do not check “Split Complex Paths” or “Compatible Gradient Printing” in document setup.
· Photoshop (CS2 or older) (use for scans only)
· Text will be converted to bitmap when blown up to full size. Try to keep all text as vectors (do not rasterize)
· Images must be at least 150 dpi when blown up to 100% production size
· Scans must be supplied in layers in order to apply the design to the banner
· High resolution scans are required for optimum quality
Any artwork that is incomplete or otherwise does not meet the submission guidelines and requires the services of a graphic designer will incur an artwork charge of $75 per hour.
